Hydrophobization of facade and prevention of saltpeter formation
Hydrophobization prevents formation of salpeter and ``walls sweating``. It is necessary to prevent the process of salt rinsing out from the wall material in order to evade the possibility of creation of saltpeter.  It can be accomplished by hydrophobization – processing of cleaned wall surfaces with special means (hydrophobization agens), which gives the waterproof properties to building materials. After hydrophobization is implemented, the wall surface ceases to absorb water and  water fall down from the wall without wetting it.

Usually for hydrophobization we use the materials which are manufactured based on organic compounds of silicium (silicon).  They create a very thin (mono-molecular) coating in the material holes and on its surface, which cannot be rinsed with water and which is waterproof. We should point out that organic compounds of silicium do not decrease passage of steam – the surface „breaths“ and in such a way maintains the athmosphere in the premise which is convenient for people. Beside the protection from saltpeter, hydrophobization gives antibacterial and anti-yeast properties to the walls, helps moulds and clamminess are not created in the cellars.

Researches have shown that capillary moisture is decreased within 2-24 hours for more than 10 times in relation to non-treated area and amounts to 1% maximum with the material treated with such hydrophobization means: concrete, simple and silicate brick, wood and other. Later, during water absorption within 2-7 days, capilar moisture will not be higher than 2%. This all prevents appearance of saltpeter, cracks, destroying during freezing and keeps the outer appearance of the construction.
